1. Bounce On (Team Phobic, $3.99)
2. Tap Tap Revenge 2 (Tapulous, $.99)
Sequel to one of the most popular games in the app store, if your kids love guitar hero they will love this one.
3. Labyrinth (Codify AB, $2.99)
Very fun and addicting game for all. Be prepared to fight your kids over who gets to play next.
4. YouTube (iPhone/iPod Touch, Free)
This is included with any iPhone or iPod Touch so no download is necessary from the iTunes Store. Most of my boys free time is spent watching Guitar Hero clips that other kids have posted on YouTube showing them performing difficult songs. My girls love to search for silly animal tricks. Videos of Disney songs are also enjoyed by girls.
5. Disney Channel Cover Styler (Disney, Free)
This allows your daughter to take a picture of her or her friends and then place those pictures into a mock magazine cover making her the star of some of Disney Channel's favorite shows like Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place. Its surprising Disney hasn't jumped into the App store with more apps for kids, they only have a couple at the moment but this one is entertaining.
6. Kids Math Fun - First Grade (NCS Partners, $1.99)
My six year old son used this app when he started the 1st grade to help him with understanding the differences between adding and subtracting. The app can be used as a competition between kids as it keeps score so each kid will try to out score the other one using math equations. They also make math app games from kindergarden through fourth grade levels.
7. Flashlight (John Haney, Free)
Very simple app that lights up very bright filling the screen in four different colors. It actually does provide enough light to scurry around in a dark room.
| 8. "Walt Disney World Secrets" Notescast (DMBC, $1.99) Cool app that describes over 180 secrets covering all four theme parks at Walt Disney World. |
9. ParkingLot (quetouch, $.99)
Sliding puzzle game that is harder than it looks. It has 9 packs and 350 different puzzles so its an app that won't go stale over time. Play this game with my kids over Skype when I travel.
10. Hidden Expedition Everest (Big Fish, $1.99)
Very addicting hidden-object game where you race up the highest mountain in the world looking for clues.
Bonus:
Brain Blaze Multiply (IMAK Creations, $1.99)
Multiplication flash cards that get increasingly more difficult.
